My Mom is the type of person who is always willing to lend a hand. That phrase is also so symbolic of my best memories with my Mom. She has always lent me a hand. Whether she was teaching me how to throw a ball, how to tie my shoes, holding my hand as we crossed the street, teaching me how to bake, sew or knit. When she handed me off to Tyler on our wedding day with my Dad as they walked me down the isle. Those are the memories.
This year my Mom taught me a new lesson. She came to visit me for my Birthday and taught me how to make a quilt. A quilt is a complete labor of love, with countless hours using your hands to feed the fabric through the machine. We took turns, laughed a long the way at our mistakes, and we ended up with a beautiful hand sewed quilt that we gifted to close friends for their wedding (quilt tutorial to follow).
Today, on Mother’s Day and every day, I am reminded of how grateful I am for my Mom and all of the lessons she has taught me and continues to teach me simply by lending me a hand!
